Issue No. 27 of the journal "Typographer's Digest," edited by Alexander Lawson. This issue was devoted to Frederic W. Goudy. It is notable for including the text of a letter by Goudy to Sol Hess describing his methods ("The Goudy Method"); this contains the only published information on the way in which Goudy determined the justification (lining and fitting) of his matrices. It also includes a delightful "Refusal Order Blank" made up by Goudy's friends to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Goudy's Village Press and Letter Foundery.
